At DokiPic we take our users’ privacy and security very seriously. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share and protect your personal information when you use the DokiPic mobile application, in compliance with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable regulations.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information provided by the user

When you register or interact with DokiPic, you may provide us with information such as your alias, a profile description and your interests.

1.2 User content

This includes the photos you take in the moment from within the App and the text you share through it.

1.3 Technical data

We collect information about the device you use (model, operating system, device identifier), network, IP address and other data related to your activity in the App.

1.4 Usage data

We obtain information about how you use the App (most-used features, interactions and usage statistics) in order to improve our services.

1.5 Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to record interactions, personalize your experience and carry out statistical analysis.

1.6 Internal security identifier

To protect the community and effectively enforce reports, blocks and abuse-related restrictions, DokiPic generates and stores a unique internal identifier associated with your account and/or device. This identifier is used solely for security and moderation purposes. Due to its role in preventing abuse and repeat offenses, it may be retained even if you close your account or reinstall the App (see section “6. Data Retention”). It is not used for advertising or for tracking your activity across third-party apps or websites.

2. Purpose of Data Processing

The data collected is used for the following purposes:

• Providing and improving the service: to provide, maintain and optimize DokiPic’s functionality, process your requests and improve your experience.
• Notifications and communication: to send you push notifications about updates, changes to the terms and news, provided you have given your consent.
• Analysis and statistics: to analyze, anonymously and in aggregate form, how users interact with the App in order to improve it.
• Personalized advertising: to display personalized ads within the App through third-party advertising providers, respecting your privacy preferences.
• Content moderation: to maintain a safe environment, DokiPic moderates both text and images. Images are analyzed using on-device technology (where available) and, in a complementary way, through online artificial intelligence services; text is filtered through a local filter and an online analysis. Data processed during moderation is handled securely and, unless you give your explicit consent, is not used to train AI models.
• Security and abuse prevention: to use the internal security identifier (section 1.6) to enforce reports, blocks and restrictions, and to prevent fraud, abuse and repeat offenses by sanctioned users.

3. Use of Third-Party Tools

3.1 Usage analytics

To improve the App we collect usage statistics (most-visited screens, session length, etc.) through our own analytics solution. This data is processed in aggregate form and is not shared with third parties.

3.2 Advertising providers

To offer personalized advertising, DokiPic integrates with third-party advertising providers, which may collect information about the device and browsing habits, always in accordance with your privacy settings and the GDPR.

3.3 Content moderation tools

We use on-device analysis and online artificial intelligence services to moderate images and text and to ensure a safe environment. These services are configured not to use personal data for training purposes, unless explicit consent is given.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data based on:

• Consent: for sending notifications, usage analysis and ad personalization, we request your explicit consent.
• Performance of a contract: we need to process your data in order to provide and maintain the DokiPic service.
• Compliance with legal obligations: we process data when required by law (for example, to comply with tax, data protection or security regulations).
• Legitimate interest: we use your data for legitimate purposes such as improving the service and, in particular, for security and abuse prevention through the internal security identifier (Art. 6.1.f GDPR; Recital 47 expressly recognizes fraud prevention as a legitimate interest), always balancing this against your rights and freedoms.

5. Sharing Data with Third Parties

We do not share, sell or transfer your personal information to third parties without your consent, except in the following cases:

• Service providers: we may share data with third parties that assist us (for example, hosting, advertising or content moderation services) under strict confidentiality terms and in compliance with the GDPR.
• Legal compliance: when necessary to respond to legal obligations or requests from competent authorities, including those related to child safety.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide and improve the service and to comply with our legal and contractual obligations.

If you decide to delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data, with the following exceptions: (i) data that the law requires us to retain for a specific period; and (ii) the internal security identifier (section 1.6) and a minimal record associated with sanctions or blocks applied, which we may retain — even after account deletion — for the sole purpose of preventing abuse and repeat offenses, on the basis of our legitimate interest. This record is limited to what is strictly necessary for that purpose.

7. User Rights

As a user and resident of the European Union, you have the right to:

• Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification: request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure: request the deletion of your personal data, unless there is a legal obligation to retain it or a compelling legitimate interest in doing so (see sections 1.6 and 6 regarding the internal security identifier).
• Objection: object to the processing of your data based on legitimate interests or for advertising purposes.
• Portability: request the transfer of your data to another controller.
• Restriction of processing: request that the processing of your data be restricted in certain circumstances.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. Although we cannot guarantee absolute security, we work continuously to minimize risks and protect your data.

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. In the event of significant changes, we will notify you through the App. Continued use of DokiPic after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
